Scenario 10: An Elemental Surprise
Initiation Location: Clear Last Scenario, enter the Celestial Caves
Scene 1:
Scene Location: Celestial Caves
- You enter the caves behind the flowing waterfall. You marvel at the sight before you. The place has been barely touch, left in its original condition. There is a mystical, sacred feeling about this place. At the same time, you sense something chaotic... something in disorder and disarray. You cannot place your finger on the source of both things. -
Nuri: This place is so... amazing! Almost like a dream!
Jimon: I've never seen something like this before! It's so confusing and twisted!
- You tilt your head at the two, and proceed further into the cave. Your senses becomes more prominent as you venture forward... something holy definitely resides here, as well as something completely out of whack. -
Nuri: Look at all the colors! It's like someone took a paint bucket full of crystal colors and randomly spread it everywhere! And the colors change as you move!
Jimon: My brain hurts just looking at it! All those spikes sticking up from the ground and out of the ceiling make me feel uneasy.
- You notice the stalagmites and stalactites ahead of you. You figure that they will give you a hard time traveling. You decide to make camp on the spot on which you are standing. -
Scene 2:
Scene Location: Celestial Caves
- You begin preparations for cooking a meal shortly after setting up a campfire and some tents. -
Nuri: Mm... hot dogs and bread! You certainly know how to cook up a good meal!
- You chuckle and say your not an expert -
Jimon: Nevertheless, this one is exceptional!
- You blush at Jimon's compliment -
Nuri: Jimon, that was very kind of you!
- Embarrassed, Jimon steps backward -
Jimon: What? I didn't say anything!
- You notice something approaching you from the cave beyond -
Nuri: Another dragon?
Jimon: We don't have time for this!
- You decide to hide behind a crevice nearby. Nuri and Jinon follow you, and have a hard time fitting inside with you. -
Nuri: Omph! You're squishing me!
Jimon: Be careful! This shell is brittle!
Nuri: We can't fit in here like this forever!
- The figure stops at the campfire you abandoned and examines it. -
???: (Hmm... this is a campfire. But if this is a campfire, where are its campers?)
- You realize that the unusually tall figure is a merchant. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be none other than the Wandering Merchant. -
Nuri: I can't take it anymore!
- Nuri slips out of the crevice and topples to the ground. -
- The Wandering Merchant turns to your direction. -
Wandering Merchant: Oh! I can't believe it! It's my most favorite client!
Jimon: Is that who I think it is?
Nuri: It's the walking pig!
- In irritation of the remark, wandering merchant clears his throat. -
Wandering Merchant: A pig? I'm not a pig? I'm Chumley the Traveling Merchant!
Jimon: So, the pig has a name?
Chumley: Tsk...
- You ask Chumley what brought him to Winter Wonderland -
Chumley: Aye, Yes! I delivered some supplies to Santa's workshop! You know, business deals.
Jimon: What?! Santa exists!?
Nuri: No way! You met Santa?
Chumley: No... not in person. I simply come here every so often and bring hard to find goods for Santa's Workshop. Other than you, he's my best customer. Always welcoming a new friend.
- Jimon gives the Chumley the stink eye. -
Chumley: Ahem! Anyway, so what brings you here?
- You explain to Chumley the situation at hand -
Chumley: Oh, my! That is quite a predicament! And those dragons you already met... hmm... they seem rather strong! Have you ever wondered about the connections between them?
- You tell Chumley you have noticed a connection between the dragons. -
Jimon: Care to fill me in? I'm lost and confused.
Nuri: Yeah, what connection
- Chumley's eyes sparkles as he begins to tell the story -
Chumley: The dragons you fought against are known as "The Dragon Raiders". They can show up at any time at any location, primarily on Yutakhan. There are actually 12 of them. Their names are: Coelacanth, Pink Belle, Shaman, Predator, Figar, Deva, Elder, Hades, Sunset, Aether, Nether, and Sunrise. They are wild, untamable dragons. Only the chosen dragon tamers can quell their fury.
Chumley: With the exception of Sunset, Sunrise, Shaman, and Deva, they all represent a certain element: Water, Wind, Earth, Fire, Light, Dark, Holy, and Chaos. This is their connection with each other. You have already defeated 6 of them: Coelacanth, the Water Raider; Pink Belle, the Wind Raider; Predator, the Earth Raider; Figar, the Fire Raider; Elder, the Light Raider; and Hades, the Darkness Raider.
Chumley: These dragon raiders form an elemental circle. When united, they are a force to be reckoned with. No one has been able to defeat all of them at once. No one.
- Nuri and Jimon stares at Chumley with gapping mouths -
Nuri: How do you know about this?
Jimon: Yeah, you are no dragon tamer!
- Chumley smiles at the two -
Chumley: I am a traveling merchant! If you've been to as many clients as I have, you're bound to hear a juicy story or two!
Nuri: That's true.
Jimon: I don't know... I smell something fishy...
Chumley: That would be the tuna I just ate.
- You and Nuri laugh at Chumley's joke. -
- Chumley's expression darkens for a moment. -
Chumley: Beware, young child of light. There has been stories floating around about a mysterious dragon who's in charge of them all. His name supposedly "The Grinch", and he's as grouchy as they come!
- You, Nuri, and Jimon stare in shock at Chumley's warning. -
Jimon: He knows the Grinch?
Nuri: You don't think...
Jimon: That he's a spy!
- Chumley, taken aback, waves his arms in denial -
Chumley: What? Me? In league with...- No no no no no no no! I'm only a merchant... a goods mans! I don't take sides in petty disputes!
Jimon: Ha! Interesting concept! If you don't take sides, then you must be selling to both sides! In this case, your a double spy!
- Chumley begins to cry -
Chumley: I'm so sorry! I can't help it! I only do what I need to do to survive! You must understand!
Jimon: Tell it to the judge...
Nuri: Jimon, stop it! You're making him cry!
Jimon: I don't need to stop! If you have forgotten, we're facing a powerful enemy! We can't afford to have them grow more powerful! This merchant has been selling products to the enemy, giving them the strength they need to fight back! He must be punished for his crimes!
- Chumley wails in tears -
Chumley: He's right! I'm a bad man!
- Nuri consoles Chumley by caressing him and hugging him -
Nuri: Ohh... poor Chumley! You only wish to survive, right? So it's only natural to sell and trade products to the enemy. That's what merchants do. They really do not mean any harm toward others. Right?
- Chumley takes out a handkerchief and blows his nose. -
Chumley: That's right...
- You ask Chumley where he was headed next -
Chumley: Anywhere, I guess. I usually follow my gut, my instincts. That's how I roll...
Nuri: How about this: you come with us and show us the true christmas spirit inside of you! We'll hand out lots of presents and toys to those good little girls and boys! And when we're done, we'll decorate a tree, and put a bright star on top of it! How does that sound.
- Chumley sniffles -
Chumley: Sounds great...
Nuri: Great! Then it's a team effort!
- Jimon groans. -
- You, Nuri, Jimon, and Chumley get ready for bed. According to what Chumley told you, you still have a long road ahead of you. -
Scene 3:
Scene Location: The Abandoned Mines
- Santa and his pet dragon stand inside a small room inside a cave, where many different tunnels lead to many various directions. A small rails made for a mine cart stretches into many of those tunnels. A campfire is set up in front of the two, Santa rationed his meal. -
- The young dragon whimpers, depressed. Santa pats her on the head gently. -
Santa: It's going to be alright. You'll see.
- A dark figure materializes out of thin air behind Santa. Shocked, the young dragon begins to cry aloud. -
Santa: What is it? What's wrong.
- The young dragon hops around frantically -
- Santa turns around, but a moment too late. The dark figure extended its arms and ensnared Santa completely in his hands. -
???: If you want Santa back, you must defeat the one person who stands in my way! The legendary dragon tamer! Defeat him, and Santa is yours!
The dark figure cackled victoriously, and then vanished without a trace. -
- The young dragon trembles in fear, with tears welling from her eyes. -
