Howdy, so I've been playing Dragon village off and on for a long time, and I cannot figure out the most efficient way to actually raise top-tier dragons. There's basically no help or actual info on english sites. So I'm going to list some things that I have the most trouble with, and if anyone can give me any advice it'd be greatly appreciated!

Levelling up:

In DV1 Level downs cost gems. So how am I supposed to buy infinite level-downs with a finite resource? Or are gems actually infinite and I'm just doing something wrong? Is there some way to farm gems to actually afford enough level downs to raise a dragon all the way?

How frequent should a triple max level up be?:

Because eating through about 30 level downs on one level 15 dragon is a bit disheartening, especially when those cost gems...

There's probably a lot of stuff I don't actually know, and just don't know enough to ask about yet, but these two things have bothered me the most so far. I haven't been able to progress to fighting Dark nix yet, because I'm still trying to raise the capsule god dragon.

I also played DV2, but it seems to have disappeared from the app store.

If anyone could give me tips or clarification, it would be greatly appreciated, because I'm not sure if I'm playing this game right.
