Scenario 2: The Christmas Crisis
Initiation Location: Utahkhan
Scene 1:
Scene Location: Utahkhan
[A black Silhouette resembling a dragon appears.]
- As you wander around Utahkhan, you spot a giant mysterious dragon. His appearance frightens you, and you hide behind a rock. -
???: Christmas? Ba humbug! I hate Christmas! Hate the smell, hate the taste, hate all those nasty little toys! Christmas is a sin... a sin that needs to be cleansed! I know what I'll do! I'll head on up to Santa's Workshop! I'll destroy the factory and all those little toys! I'll feast on his elves and reindeer, and make sure Santa never makes another toy! Heh... while I'm at it... I might as well eat Santa too!
- The silhouette notices your presence -
???: Eh? How long have you been there!?
[The dragon jumps at you like a boss monster. He is green in color, and has a greedy appearance.]
???: Big mistake, you filthy human! You spied, and now you pay the price! I will eat you alive!
{Select 3 dragons to fight, cannot use mercenaries}

(Monster Raging Strike) "You think you can save Christmas?!"
If tamer is defeated:
Message: If we don't escape now, we're finished!
If boss is defeated:
Message: The dragon took a few steps backward in shock. He doesn't even appear to be fazed!
Scene 2:
Scene Location: Utahkhan
- The green dragon pauses for a moment, analyzing you. -
???: (What is this power I'm sensing? Could this be the legendary dragon tamer?)
- All of a sudden, four familiar figures come running towards you. -
King Srorin: We're here for you!
Queen Aidra: We'll fight alongside you!
Nuri: We came as fast as we could!
Jimon: She's the slow one!
???: (There's too many of them! I must retreat and regroup with my kin!)
- You watch as the dragon quickly retreats -
You: Who was that?
Queen Aidra: That was the Grinch. He hates Christmas with a passion.
King Srorin: He's done some pretty nasty things in the past during Christmas. We didn't think he'd come back.
- You tell them about the Grinch's plot -
Queen Aidra: Hmm? A message... for Santa? The Grinch is planning to destroy Santa and his workshop?
King Srorin: If the Grinch manages to eat Santa, we'll all be in big trouble!
Queen Aidra: Come with us. We'll explain the problem at hand.
- You follow Queen Aidra and King Srorin back to town. This seems very serious... -
Scene 3:
Scene Location: Elpis Town Hall
- You sit down in the Library with the two royals and your two friends. The morbid expressions on their face is clear; something is very wrong. -
Queen Aidra: Now that we're here, let me explain our current situation. The Spirit of Christmas lives within us all. It's a time when we set aside our differences and celebrate the season of giving.
King Srorin: We dwarves may be hard workers and laborers, but we do set aside time for ourselves and others to cherish the more finer things in life.
Queen Aidra: In the same manner, we elves set aside time from our daily lives to give a little back.
King Srorin: Even through the constant war and bickering, we lay down our arms and weapons to celebrate this time of year.
Queen Aidra: It's the Miracle of Christmas. We're not sure where it came from, or how it works. All we know is that it quiets our minds and opens our hearts, so that we may become one with Nature. Thus, we can live together in peace, if only for a short time.
King Srorin: But if this time of peace is destroyed, it may upset the balance of Nature and War. We may all be destroyed!
Queen Aidra: We need you to go and investigate this matter. Legend says that the power of the Miracle of Christmas resides up north, far beyond the distant shore, on the isle of Winter Wonderland. Go and relay this message to Santa. Perhaps then, we can find an answer.
- You nod and proceed out of the library.
Scene 4:
Scene Location: Elpis Town Square
- Nuri gives you an inquisitory glance. -
Nuri: You're thinking about heading on over to the isle of Winter Wonderland, aren't you?
- You nod your head -
Nuri: Then by all means... take us with you!
Jimon: What?
Nuri: If you allow us to tag along... perhaps well see Santa and his elves!
Jimon: Nuri... there is no Santa Claus!
Nuri: Sure there is! You just gotta believe!
Jimon: ...
- You shake your head at the two, and tell them that it's too dangerous for them to go. -
Nuri: Nonsense! We're going with you anyway, whether you like it or not! I have a bet to settle with Jimon anyway.
Jimon: What bet?
Nuri: That Santa Claus exists!
Jimon: He doesn't!
Nuri: He does!
Jimon: Prove it!
Nuri: I will! Just wait and see!
- You ask the two if they are really up for the task at hand. -
Nuri: We've been through so much together, we cannot leave you now! Remember all the good times we had in the past? Perhaps we'll have a great time this time too!
- You sigh and reluctantly allow them to tag along. -
Nuri: Great! We're right behind you! Let's head out!
- The isle of Winter Wonderland and the Miracle of Christmas... a new adventure awaits, and it is just around the corner! -
{Winter Island, which was previously grayed out on the map, is now enabled to enter}
