Scenario 6: Hard Core
Initiation Location: Clear Last Scenario, enter the Snowy Plains
Scene 1:
Scene Location: The Snowy Plains
- Nuri gazes at the sight of the Snowy Plains before her. -
Nuri: Look at all the snow! I bet we could make a snowman out of this!
Jimon: A snowman?
Nuri: Or perhaps a snow angel!
Jimon: What about a snow dragon?
Nuri: Yeah! A snow dragon! Let's do it!
- Elaro steps in front of the two -
Elaro: Hold it right there! You're not making any snowmen or snow dragons until you deliver the message! -
Nuri: Oh, come on! It will be fun!
- As Nuri turns, she is hit by a snowball -
Nuri: ... Jimon?
Jimon: That's for believing in Santa Claus!
Nuri: Why, you...
- Nuri rolls up a ball of snow and throws it at Jimon, who dodges it. Jimon retaliates by throwing another snowball at Nuri, which hits her directly in the face. -
Jimon: And that's for believing in Rudolph!
Nuri: I'll get you!
- Nuri and Jimon continue to throw snowballs at each other. One of the thrown snowballs accidentally hits Elaro. -
Elaro: STOP! If you throw another snowball, you'll never find your way to Santa's Workshop, cause I'll be leaving!
- You tell Nuri and Jimon that this is not the time or place. -
Nuri: Oh, right. Sorry. Let's continue on our way.
- As you turn and begin to proceed on your way, you are hit hard by an abnormally large snowball. You are knocked over and find yourself on the ground. -
Elaro: That's it!
Nuri: It wasn't me or Jimon!
Elaro: Then who was it?
???: It was I, Predator, captain of the guard.
- Opening your eyes, you see a familiar dragon in front of you. -
Predator: YOU! Dragon Tamer! I sense your power! I challenge you to a Match.
- A spark ignites in your eye.-
Predator: Here are the rules: You must fight on your own; no friends allowed. It will be a one-on-one match; choose your best dragon champion. In addition, it will be a timed battle; the winner is declared based on best performance if either side is not defeated. Finally, each player must put in an Ante before the match; both players must select a valuable item to surrender if they should lose. First to win two rounds wins the match. Winner takes all. Understood?
- You accept the conditions with a confident smile -
Predator: Then let the match begin!
[Predator appears as a boss monster]
Message: You show courage, young human. You are either very brave or very foolish...

If tamer loses one round:
Message: "Hmph! You'll need to do better than that!"
If tamer wins one round:
Message: "Impressive, boy. Let's see how you'll handle the next round!"
If tamer loses two rounds:
Message: "Pathetic! I thought you were much stronger than this!"
If tamer wins two rounds:
Message: "Ah, you've beaten me fair and square. Here's your reward."
{If player loses the match for the first time}
Scene 2a:
Scene Location: The Snowy Plains
- You collapse to the ground, exhausted. -
Nuri and Jimon: No way! He lost!
Predator: An unexpected outcome... but nonetheless interesting enough. You're far to weak, young one, to think you stand a chance against the Grinch.
You: You know the Grinch?
Predator: Yes, and I work for him, too. If you still think you've got what it takes, meet me here once more. I will be waiting.
- You feel yourself slipping away and your world goes black. -
{You lose your anted item, and return to Winter Wonderland’s mainland.}
{To fight the Predator again, simply go back to the Snowy Plains}
{If player loses the match again, the player simply returns to Winter Wonderland’s mainland without going through "Scene 2a" again.}
{If player wins the match}
Scene 2b:
Scene Location: The Snowy Plains
- You watch as Predator topples over. -
Nuri: Alright! You beat him!
Jimon: I always knew you could do it!
- Although you’ve beaten Predator, cannot help but feel pity for the poor creature. -
Predator: My fine lad... you’ve proven yourself worthy. Here’s your prize.
- Predator gives you a Predator egg -
Predator: I hope our paths one day cross again, so I may face you as a friend in battle. Until then, happy trails.
- You watch as Predator fades from the world. -
Nuri: There was something... different about him.
Jimon: You mean the fact that he’s very dramatic?
Nuri: No... I mean the fact that he’s almost... not evil.
Elaro: Guys, we can ponder this subject all we want, but it’s not going to get us any closer to warning Santa. Next stop... The Frozen Lake.
- You reluctantly proceed forward, wondering what has become of Predator. -
{Upon completion of this chapter, you are rewarded with a Predator egg, and the Frozen Lake location is unlocked for traveling.}
